How to get on a train
IC card use
◆You can ride a train by touching this card on automatic gates.Easy!
◆ It can be purchased for free at multi-function ticket vending machines.
◆Although the IC card is free, a deposit of 500 yen will be charged. You will get the deposit money back by returning the card to the station when you do not need the card anymore.
◆Charge amount is either 1000yen, 2000yen, 3000yen, 4000yen, 5000yen, or 10000yen.
◆Suica and Pasmo have the same functions. There are no big differences other than the issuing railway company.
※Suica is issued by JR East, Pasmo is issued by private railway operators in the metropolitan area.
◆You can use this card to ride trains an buses.
◆In addition to use it to board a train, you can also use it as electronic money. It can be used when shopping at convenience stores or supermarkets.
